Lakhwinder Singh, who arrived in Australia as a 21-year-old student with only $1800 to his name, spent some nights homeless. Now, 16 years later, he owns eight properties across four states, worth a total of $4.5 million. Initially, Singh moved to NSW in 2007 with the goal of studying and eventually applying for permanent residency. Despite facing challenges, including being homeless for a period after being evicted from a friend’s rental property, Singh worked various jobs to make ends meet. He later married, became a permanent resident, and bought his first property in 2014. However, an issue with the builder and rising property prices led him to educate himself on property investment before continuing.
